Many of the bikes in the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum tell the story of technological progress and innovation. This bike tells the story of one very determined racer.

Donny Schmit carved out his own career path to motocross success. The Minnesota native got off to a good start by winning the 125cc West Region title in the 1986 AMA Supercross Series. But Schmit then struggled in the premier 250cc class, particularly on tighter Supercross circuits.

Recognizing that his skills translated better to outdoor motocross, Schmit dropped out of Supercross to focus on the 125 MX series, losing his Suzuki factory ride in the process. Focusing on a grueling training regimen, he was picked up in 1990 by Team Bieffe Suzuki to race the 125 Motocross World Championship. I WANT THE MOTO MORINI (3'n'1/2)

Few days ago, while I was travelling through the roads of Milan, I have seen one of these MOTO MORINI.
It was like to dive immediately into past. I was in love with this bike when I was a young guy.


In 1971 Moto Morini launched on the market the challenging project of Ing. Lambertini (coming from Ferrari experience), with a very nice bike, innovative and rather fast.
With its 72° inclined cylinders it was possible to keep it shorter and agile. The back cylinder is also “out of the axe” in order to keep it cool.

Another peculiar characteristic was the multi disc-dry pack friction, typical application of sporty bikes.
The SPORT version was able to deliver 39 Cv at 8.500 rpm, with a maximum speed of 175 km/h.

In the pictures below some nice example of how a nice bike from the early past can become an excellent basis for customization.
In the last picture, a friend was able to put the gear clutch “in the right position” (at left), since the standard motorbike was fitting the brake on the left and the gears on the right.

The Indian Larry Legacy lives on via Bobby & Elisa Seegers, the owners of Indian Larry Motorcycles in Brooklyn, NY. Now they are also fighting to keep their 6-year old son Aidan alive.

Friends have formed a posse to round up a bone marrow donor for Aidan. You can follow their progress and give your support at: "Aidan Has A Posse!" 

Two weeks ago, Aidan was diagnosed with a rare brain disease called Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD).

As a first step in the fight, he is in dire need of a bone marrow transplant and his 4-year old sister is not a match. So a massive search for a donor is underway.

To find out if you might be a match, visit http://www.marrow.org/ to find a bone marrow drive or donor center, or to request a mail-in testing kit. 

Donor testing consists of a simple saliva swab for healthy adults ages 18 to 60. 

A $25 donation helps cover the cost of the lab exams needed to determine if you're a match for Aidan or someone else.

Aidan is a first-grader, who likes listening to the band Buckcherry with his dad and riding his Razor scooter. He has huge blue eyes and a smile that is contagious. He is full of personality and laughter.
